Losses of human life, real and personal property, natural environment and infrastructure have multiplied exponentially in the last decade due to a dramatic increase in the number and severity of wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes and other major wind events.

Many of the most devastating impacts have been the result of  compromised electric assets,  which can take on a  destructive life of their own, particularly  in remote and hard-to-reach areas with little to no cellular connectivity and significant accessibility limitations.
